Una conmovedora historia...

Basada en una historia real, la historia tiene lugar en 1987 y trata de una joven maestra que se encuentra enseñando en una escuela llena de niños sin hogar. Para superar temores y prejuicios, a veces el maestro debe aprender del alumno. Una persona puede hacer la diferencia, este el mensaje de esta extraordinaria película.

1984
Era una ama de casa norteamericana como cualquier otra, pero su vida tomó un giro imprevisto que quedó marcado en la historia. Corría agosto de 1984 cuando Betty Mahmoody, casada con un médico iraní chiita, Sayeed Bozorg Mahmoody, y con una hija de cuatro años, Mahtob, viajó a Irán, donde regía el ayatollah Khomeini y se vivía en guerra con Irak. Lo que ella creía serían unas vacaciones de dos semanas para conocer a la familia de su esposo se transformó en 18 meses de pesadilla.
Ahora estás en mi país, donde permanecerás hasta que mueras. Y obedecerás mis órdenes, le dijo Bozorg transcurridas las dos semanas previstas. Lo que siguió fue una sucesión de hechos que Betty jamás podría haber imaginado: fue vigilada, encerrada y golpeada por su marido, aun delante de Mahtob. Desde ese momento, la idea de escapar nunca dejó su mente. Decidió entonces jugar la carta de la esposa sumisa. Sólo después de diez meses se ganó la confianza de la familia de su marido y pudo salir a hacer compras, oportunidad que aprovechó para acudir a la oficina norteamericana situada en la embajada de Suiza. Allí le dijeron que al estar casada con un iraní ella tenía esa nacionalidad y nada se podía hacer. Betty buscó ayuda por otro lado, y la encontró en el dueño de una tienda que prometió sacarla del país.
Una noche, mientras todos dormían, Betty y su hija se encontraron con su protector, punto de partida de un periplo de 800 kilómetros que hicieron en auto, a pie y a caballo por montañas heladas, sorteando una zona de conflicto. Así, sin documentos, y tras dormir hasta en graneros, ambas llegaron a Turquía, desde donde regresaron a Estados Unidos. Para ellas fue un viaje hacia la libertad.

Historia de un padre que ora,
de una hija que escucha y de la soberania de Dios. Es la accion
o la pureza en una expresion. Esta pelicula presenta la historia
de Pamela Bucklin desde su nacimiento en 1969 hasta su boda en 1991.
La madre de Pamela murio cuando ella nacio Su padre le enseña
sobre la pureza en las relaciones romticas y el matrimonio. Pero esto
tuvo consecuencias. Todos sus amigos salian a citas pero Pamela siempre
estaba sola. Para ella era una situacion muy dificil de entender. Le
parecia injusto que su padre insistiera en un estar tan alto de pureza.
Ella no entendia.. hasta el dia que en que se caso.
